New Rose Studio is a boutique design and fabrication studio located in Toronto, Canada. We work with both commercial and residential clients to create objects that are not merely functional but are thoughtful and contemplative in nature. We specialize in metal, stone, wood, glass and upholstery of the highest quality and offer plating, powder coating, and unique metal finishing options.
Owner, designer and builder Melanie Keay began making furniture while completing her BFA at OCAD University. An award-winning painter, she discovered a passion and talent for welding and fabricating her own designs and sculptural work. Her methodology as a designer is deeply rooted in art history, creating objects that are unexpected, conceptual and celebrate idiosyncrasy as well as embracing an interdisciplinary approach.
