When chef René Redzepi reopened his New Nordic restaurant, Noma, in Copenhagen, he asked designer David Thulstrup to translate his taste for local and foraged ingredients into modern seating with a Danish feel.
Thulstrup’s answer was the ARV chair, which features traditional Scandinavian woven paper cord and a slender, natural or smoked oak frame. Although it was custom designed for Noma’s dining room, which was co-designed by Bjarke Ingels (no big deal), it’s got hygge written all over it. In other words, it’s also perfect for home.
