Albion’s Library Embarks on a New Chapter

An Etobicoke library’s new branch serves up modern lit

By Eric Mutrie

Come 2017, the existing Albion branch will be replaced by a shiny new building by Perkins+Will. The facility distances itself from its dusty predecessor with a partial green roof and a xylophone-like facade of glazed terra cotta bars. Inside, a digital-innovation hub will house high-tech gizmos like 3-D printers, while outdoor garden spaces will encourage community gatherings.
