San Cosme Puts a TO Spin on Mexican Tradition

Move over, tacos. We’ve fallen for San Cosme’s sandwiches – and the vibrant interior they’re served in certainly helps

Tortas are Kensington Market’s latest Mexican craze. San Cosme’s version of the grilled sandwich mixes such neighbourhood specialties as ham by Sanagan’s Meat Locker and buns by Blackbird Baking Co. The diner’s vibrant interior also comes courtesy of local pros, +tongtong. The design studio pairs patterned tiles and a ceiling installation of vinyl ribbon and wire fencing with a mural by Stephanie Latulippe featuring Mexico City’s Angel of Independence.

Part of our feature on four grab-and-go lunch spots with delicious interiors.
