Archery District
Unleash your inner Katniss Everdeen at this Archery Tag facility. Played like dodgeball but with bows and arrows on an artificial grass court, this growing phenomenon is safer than it sounds: arrows are foam-tipped, and competitors wear protective masks. Bunkers decked in toxic-waste symbols provide refuge on the playing field.
$25/person/hour, 770 Birchmount Rd  647 955 3111  Mon-Thu by appt only, Fri 4-1, Sat 10-1, Sun 10-10

Generate Fitness
Forget counting calories – this eco-friendly athletic club encourages its members to track their exercise in kilowatt-hours. SportsArt Eco-Powr elliptical machines and bikes capture energy expended during workouts and use it to offset the gym’s power consumption. Non-toxic paints throughout reinforce the facility’s do-good ethos. $25/class, 2199 Bloor St W  416 512 1821  Mon-Thu 6-9, Fri 6-8, Sat 8-4 Sun 9-1

The Monkey Vault
Located inside of a former refinery in the Stockyards, this two-floor parkour playground is inspired by the urban environment. Run, jump and swing through an obstacle course of stairs, blocks and steel bars. For monkeys not so sure they can do as they see, the gym offers beginner classes focusing on flexibility and spatial awareness. Drop-in $15, 100 Symes Rd  647 350 1111  Mon 3-10, Tue-Sun 12-10

Track & Field
Lawn games – they aren’t just for swingin’ seniors. This underground bar offers four indoor courts: two each for bocce and shuffleboard. Walk-ins must add their names to a waiting list, while those who like to plan ahead can reserve a court in advance for $40 an hour. Crokinole tables and worn leather sofas add to the old-timey atmosphere. Drop-ins free, 860 College St W  Daily 5-2
