Retail Spaces Shine in Imperial Plaza’s Restored Lobby
The Liquor Control Board opens an outpost in a historic building with Mad Men-era details
Don Draper would feel right at home in midtown’s newest LCBO – and not just because of the whisky selection. Opened in the lobby of the former Imperial Oil Ltd. headquarters at St. Clair and Avenue – a 1950s limestone tower recently converted into condos – the liquor store dazzles with such period details as marble walls and a grand York Wilson mural that depicts a flowing oil well built into a rocky landscape.
