Mjölk

Pronounced “mi-yelk,” this accessories boutique is a popular destination for contemporary design in a neighbourhood better known for rough-hewn industrial products. The sauna-esque space (created by area architecture firm Studio Junction) meticulously displays hand-honed kitchen products from Scandinavia and Japan, such as birch-bark trays by Showroom Finland and Oji Masanori’s wooden Kami cups. Also in store are nautical-print wool blankets from Iceland, Alvar Aalto’s classic, flashlight-shaped A110 pendants, and artisan-crafted dining chairs by Maruni.
