At his reclaim furniture shop, Phil Freire breathes new life into metal signage letters, Edison light bulbs and 1950s saw tables with a distinct macho mechanical aesthetic. While you’ll still find the vintage oddities here (think dressmaker dummies and hand-illustrated anatomical posters), the shop now focuses on bespoke design projects, most of which are fashioned at the nearby warehouse space on Edwin Street. Freire also works with the Ontario Mennonite community to design custom furnishings like dining tables made from reclaimed wood and kitchen stools.
