Alex Bak and Laura Payne offer custom-designed furnishings – combining wood, steel, glass, ceramic and Plexiglas – with a large part of their business devoted to contemporary kitchen and bathroom cabinetry. Their portfolio is full of free-standing bureaus, corner cabinets and consoles, as well as staircases, steel railings and backyard gateways – these two can even make window security bars look chic. Many items incorporate recycled materials, such as the metal side tables and laser-cut steel mirrors shaped like flowers.
